Starbound Company Requirements
- The commitment for the Starbound Company is 2 (two) conventions, 3 (three) regular dance competitions and studio master classes.
- Summer classes are required for all Starbound Company members as well as a 2 (two) ballet classes or one ballet class and one modern class, a jazz class and a tap class throughout the year.
- All Starbound Company members are required to sign a contract that is in effect from the beginning of the season through the annual "Festival on Main Street" in August.
- There is a one time fee to cover extra rehearsals and miscellaneous expenses. This fee is $250 for the 2009-2010 season.
- It is expected that dancers commit to finishing out the dance year and realize that it is not acceptable to terminate prematurely unless there is a physical reason. There is a great deal of effort to bond the Starbound Company. It is also a tremendous amount of work by the choreographers to re-stage a piece. It impacts already busy dancers having to go back into rehearsal if one does not honor their commitment. The Starbound Company is a team that works together and cannot function if students and parents are not aware of how their participation affects others.
- In addition to the conventions and competitions is performing for our annual Dairy Center show, numerous street festivals, community functions and concert.
- To be in Starbound both dancers and their parents must sign contracts. This is to ensure that all students and parents are aware of the details of their commitment.
- We expect that the honor of making Company be taken seriously! Commitment is essential.
